Preparation and applications of hydrophilic quaternary ammonium salt type polymeric antistatic agents

Abstract A novel ammonium salt type polymeric antistatic agent (PDSH) was synthesized from methacrylatoethyl trimethyl chloride, styrene, and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate via radical polymerization. Antistatic poly(acrylonitrile- co -butadiene- -styrene) (ABS)/PDSH composites were prepared by blending PDSH with ABS resin. The results showed that the surface resistivity of ABS/PDSH addition decreased significantly. containing 20 wt% around 10 9 –10 Ω, which about 6 times lower than neat ABS. At same time, had good thermal stability hydrophilicity. more uniformly dispersed within resin less influence on mechanical properties composites. With demonstrated properties, copolymer can serve as a well-integrated display potential for treatment

Reaction of primary C(55)-allylic alcohol moraprenol (WT(3)C(7-9)-OH, a polyprenol from mulberry leaves) with triethylamine in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride leads to a quaternary ammonium chloride with a good yield (72%) and high cis-stereoselectivity of the terminal isoprene unit.
